Florine E. Graves, Teachers' Aide

Florine E. Graves, who worked during the 1970s and '80s as a teachers' aide in Alexandria public schools, died Feb. 2 of cardiac arrest en route to Inova Mount Vernon hospital. She was 90 and lived in Alexandria.
Mrs. Graves had worked at several schools before retiring from what was then George Washington Junior High School.
Ethel Florine Huffman was born in Paden City, W.Va., and moved to the Washington area when she was 20. She later changed her first name to Florine. Her husband of 52 years, James Graves Jr., died in 2001.
Survivors include three children, James Graves III of Vale, Ore., Diane Graves of Wilmington, N.C., and Donna Kozan of Centreville; a brother; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. - Emma Brown
