CALDWELL -- Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell, for Paul J. Biedenbach, 80, of Sarahsville, who died Thursday (March 20, 2008) at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell.
The Rev. Fr. Thomas Hamm Jr. will serve as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Caldwell.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East St., Caldwell, where a Christian Scripture service and Rosary will be held following visitation at 8 p.m.
He was born July 20, 1927, in Lewisville, son of the late Ambrose and Gertrude Wahl Biedenbach.
He attended elementary school at St. Joseph School at Burkhart, and he was a graduate of Lewisville High School.
Mr. Biedenbach was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in Alaska for two years, and he owned and operated a family farm near East Union for many years. He was the founder of Biedenbach Logging Service in Sarahsville, and he was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell. He was also a member of the National Farm Organization and was recognized as the Noble County Soil and Water Conservation Farmer of the Year.
He enjoyed woodworking in his shop, fishing, listening to his radio, gardening and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Margaret Maxwell, Lucille Huffman and Phyllis Schehl.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy A. Sorg Biedenbach, whom he married May 13, 1948; his children, Barbara (Robert ) Huffman of Lowell, Beverly (Ron) Harmon and Stephen (Sue) Biedenbach, both of Caldwell, David (Veronica) Biedenbach and Mary (Jay) Hendershot, both of Sarahsville, Linda (Scott) Radcliff of Bridgeport, W.Va., John (Donna) Biedenbach of Sarahsville, Marcia (Robert) Thompson of Sherrodsville, Elizabeth (Greg) Steed of Sarahsville and Rita (Dave) McKee of Caldwell; one sister, Stella (Blair) Brown of Springfield; 33 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
