  [S927] Obituary. Clarence E. Kress, 73, of 3342 McGuffey Road, Columbus, died Monday, August 19, 1974, in Mt. Carmel east Hospital, Columbus, after an extended illness. He was born at Miltonsburg, June 10, 1901, a son of the late John and Jenny Gallagher Kress. Mr. Kress was manager of the M-K Store in Woodsfield for several years, and later owned and operated the Kress Grocery in Woodsfield before moving to Columbus. Surviving are his wife, Mercedes Zwick Kress; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Eileen) Fuchs, of Columbus; Mrs. Jerry (Mary Jo) Diener, of Framingham, Massachusetts and Mrs. Garry (Patricia) Smith of Columbus; two sons, Virgil Kress, of Mundelein, Illinois, and James Kress, of the home; sixteen grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Keller, of Marietta, and two brothers, Bernard Kress, of Woodsfield, and Charles Kress, of Malaga. A funeral Mass was held in St. James the Less Church, Columbus, on Thursday morning, August 22nd, at eleven o?clock. Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Columbus.
