Raymond Carl Ludwig, 76, of 2615 9th Ave., died at the St. Joseph's Hospital at 10 p.m. Tuesday after a short illness.
He was born in Wood County, Oct. 20, 1895, son of the late Fritz and Clara Houck Ludwig. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion and Veterans of World War One and had retired after several years in the automobile business.
He is survived by one son, Don Ludwig; two daughters, Mrs. Walter M. (Claice) Lux and Mrs. Ray N. (Mary K.) Wells; two brothers, Curtis and Clement Ludwig, three sisters, Mrs. Glenna Bowersock, Mrs. Freda Brown and Mrs. Ada Sommerville; and two grandchildren, all of Parkersburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Somerville Ludwig and by one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Leavitt Funeral Home with burial to be in the Arlington Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Thursday.
