Rose Erhardt, 90, Mandan, died June 25, 2010, at St. Vincents Care Center, Bismarck. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 28, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Patrick Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in St. Martins Cemetery, Center.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at St. Vincents Care Center and will continue from 3 to 8 p.m. at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, where a Catholic Daughters rosary will be said at 4 p.m. and a parish vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Monday.
Rose was born in Judson on Feb. 1, 1920, the daughter of Simon and Mathilda (Mosbrucker) Schmidt. She grew up on the family farm five miles south of Center. She married Peter R. Erhardt on Nov. 22, 1938, at Rosebud. Rose and her husband farmed for 34 years southeast of Center. In 1974, following Peters death, Rose moved to Center until 1981 when she moved to Mandan and later to Bismarck.
Rose enjoyed playing cards, shopping, crocheting and quilting. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She made an afghan for each of her many grandchildren.
Rose is survived by her children, David (Loretta), Houston, Delphine (Ben) Vetter, Linton, Doretta (Tim) Bornemann, Hazen, Danita (Paul) Deichert, Mandan, and Dean (Lisa), St. Louis. In addition she leaves 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three sisters-in-law, Pauline Erhardt, Bismarck, Rose Schmidt, Mandan, and Rose Kerzman, Bismarck.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Peter; four brothers; three sisters; two half-brothers; and one half-sister.
