EAST LIVERPOOL - Anthony M. "Tony" March, 87, of Center Road, died at 4:17 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010, at the H. John Heinz Progressive Care Center in Aspinwall, Pa.
Born Nov. 3, 1922, in Duncanwood, Ohio, a son of the late Sophie March, he lived most of his life in this area.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force in World War II, he served in the air offensive in Europe in the Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland.
He was a spark tester at the former Crucible Steel, retiring in 1982.
He attended the former Calvary Methodist Church and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. An avid Potter basketball fan, he was also a gardener, coached little, pony and minor league baseball and enjoyed playing tennis.
Surviving at home is his wife, Maxine Feiock March, whom he married May 16, 1949.
Also surviving are four sons, A. Michael March Jr. of Calcutta, Joseph A. March at home, John F. March of East Liverpool and Thomas A. March and his wife, Caroline, of Florida.
He is survived by a grandson, Jordan Michael March, whom he reared. Also surviving are granddaughters Lisa March and Christina March and her husband, Mike Stone, and a great-grandson, Jayden.
A brother, Frank March, survives in St. Clairsville.
Joe Hendricks is to conduct services at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where friends may call two hours prior to the service.
The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will provide full military honors.
Burial is to be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
