Donald R. "Donnie" Yahner, 68, Hastings, formerly of Patton, passed away Saturday at Miners Medical Center.
He was born in Spangler, a son of the late Donald L. and Louise (Hitch) Yahner.
Surviving are eight brothers and sisters: Louise Summerville, Shirley Anderson and Helen Lokey, all of Patton, Jean Stuart of North Fort Myers, Fla., Tom Yahner of Patton, Patricia Hatch of Altoona, Joseph Yahner of Patton and Bob Yahner of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donnie was a 1959 graduate of Patton-Chest High School.
He was a member of the former St. George Catholic Church, where he served as an altar boy.
Donnie loved playing bingo and taking walks at the Patton Park.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton (www.stevensfh.com), where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton, by the Benedictine fathers.
Committal will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Patton.
Contributions in Donnie's memory may be given to the Patton Park and/or the Patton Fire Company
