WOODSFIELD - Opal M. Yontz, 84, of 1005 Taylor Ave., Zanesville, formerly of Lewisville, died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2005, at her home.
She was born Sept. 5, 1920, near Coshocton, a daughter of the late Lewis Maurice and Carrie Hughes Lease.
She was a retired deli manager at the former Woodsfield I.G.A. and a member of the Catholic Women's Club and St. Joseph Catholic Church near Lewisville. She also attended St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Zanesville.
Surviving are one son, Franklin (Judy) Yontz of Summerfield; three daughters, Carolyn (Bill) Kohler, Rebecca Englehart and Susan (Jerry) Moore of Zanesville; one sister, Zella Cullison of Mount Verenon; one brother, Lewis Lease of Mount Vernon; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert F. Yontz, who died June 19, 1990; one daughter, Judith Kay Yontz; and three sisters, Evelyn, Nancy and Lela.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at St. Joseph Catholic Church near Lewisville, with vigil services and Rosary devotions at 7:30 p.m. Calling hours will also be held one hour prior to the liturgy.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2005, at the church with the Rev. Father David Gaydosik as the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lewisville.
Arrangements are being handled by Watters Funeral Home, 37501 Ohio 78 West, Woodsfield.
