Lester Dale Antill, 78, of New Matamoras, Ohio formerly of Rinard Mills, passed away April 16, 2014 at Marietta Memorial Hospital from complications of multiple myeloma. Dale was born August 5, 1935 at Low Gap/Cline, Ohio to Aubrey and Hazel Burkhart Antill. He was a Graysville High School graduate, class of 1953. On November 12, 1955, he married Norma Jean Dye Antill, the daughter of Franklin and the late Mildred Barnhouse Dye. He was dad to three daughters, Janice (Terry) Pringle; Tammie (Loren) Rinard; Brenda (Mark) Mendenhall and one son Franklin Dale (Kim) Antill. He was grandpa to five granddaughters, Jennifer (Ryan) Lauer; Lauren (Roman Thompson) Rinard; Tiffany (Tyler) Schumacher; Amy (Chad Kilburn) Rinard; Anna Antill and one grandson Nicodemus Antill. He was great grandpa to three great granddaughters, Leigha Lauer, Raylin Schumacher, Lyla Thompson, and one great grandson, Blake Lauer. He is also survived by his brother-in-law , Roger (Darlene) Dye; sister-in-law Sally Antill; nephews Greg (Carol) Antill and Mike (Susan) Antill; nieces, Vickie Turner and Valerie McPeek. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his brother, Gilbert in 1998; nephew, Jeff Antill; niece, Rhonda Dye; his grandparents, Frank and Blanche Binegar Burkhart and John and Tillie Antill Cline. Dale retired from Ormet Corporation with 40 years of service and 23 years as an insurance agent with German Farmers Insurance. Dale was a member of the New Matamoras United Methodist Church, a life member of the Matamoras Area Historical Society and a member of the Jericho Cemetery Association. Dale enjoyed sports; auctions; watching television, especially westerns. He was a family man who enjoyed the Sunday gatherings on the front porch and his grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, April 18 from 2 to 8 p.m. with services Saturday, April 19 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dennis Williams and Pastor Terry Pringle officiating at the Hadley Funeral Home, New Matamoras, Ohio. Burial will follow at the New Matamoras Cemetery.
