Marie K. Carrico, 81, of North Vernon, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2007, at Waters of Dillsboro Nursing Home.
A Memorial mass will be held at 10 AM, Monday, December 17, 2007, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Donahue officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary?s Catholic Cemetery, at a later date.
Born October 21, 1926 in Buechel, KY, she was the daughter of Charles A. and Catherine Marie Keely Silliman. She was the eldest daughter of eight children. She married Thomas L. Carrico on December 28, 1949 at St. Anthony Church in Louisville, KY. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2007.
Mrs. Carrico attended Shawnee High School and became an executive secretary at International Harvester in Louisville, KY. In 1968 Mr. and Mrs. Carrico purchased the King Restaurant and Dairy Queen, in North Vernon, which they owned and operated until their retirement in 1986. Mrs. Carrico was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church.
Mrs. Carrico is survived by two children, Pamela Marie Carrico of Aurora, IN, and Dr. Thomas J. (Karen) Carrico of Moores Hill, IN, three grandchildren; Brian, Matthew and Nicholas Carrico of Indianapolis. Also surviving is one brother, Paul Silliman of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and three sisters; Marilyn Badgett of North Vernon, Patsy Deddens and Jean Bodenbender of Louisville, KY.
Mrs. Carrico was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thomas L., and three brothers; Jack, Bob and Jerry Silliman.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary?s Parish.

Marie K. Carrico, 81, of North Vernon died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at Waters of Dillsboro Health Care Center at Dillsboro.
A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Donahue officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
