Elsie Parsons Lamb, age 88, of Holland, passed away on Wednesday May 30, 2012 in the Resthaven Good Shepherd Home.
Elsie was born on May 20, 1924 in Hudson, NY to J. Rossman and Charlotte (Schrader) Parsons. She graduated from Hudson High School and Hope College and taught school for three years in Traverse City, MI.
Elsie was a longtime member of Hope Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, as a deacon and elder, and as member of the Sacred Dance group for fifteen years. She helped form the Community Action House and Hope Church Day Care Center. Elsie was a great advocate of peace and helped form the Holland Peacemakers. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Lamb in 1987.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bill Lamb; her sons, Ross and Leesa Lamb, Fred and Denise Lamb; her grandchildren, Dexter Lamb, Maggie Lamb, Amy Lamb, Audrey Lamb, Kirsten Lamb, Taylor and Chris Visscher; her great grandchildren, Brylan McConnell and Sophie Visscher; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Lois Lamb; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Hope Church, 77 West 11th Street in Holland with Rev. Jill Russell officiating.
Private interment will take place in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Resthaven Care Center or Hope Church.
