Obituary, New Castle News, November 9, 2002 - Joan Slevin: Ellwood City resident Joan M. Slevin, 74, of 505 Nicholason Ave., died the night of Nov. 7, 2002, in the extended care unit of Ellwood City Hospital. Born Oct. 31, 1928 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Robert N. and Hazel Lanahan Adler. She was married to Edward E. Slevin, He died May 24, 1988. Mrs. Slevin was a member of the St. Agatha Church, Holy Redeemer Parish. She belonged to the Ladies Card Club. Survivors include a daughter, Maureen Bergdahl of Gibsonia; four sons, Edward J. Slevin of Ellwood City, Robert T. Slevin of Conneaut Lake, Pa., Michael Slevin and Tod P., Slevin both of Beaver; a brother, Gerald Adler of Zelienople; a sister, Dorothy Debortoli of Zelienople; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Joseph A. Tomon Jr. Funeral Home, 123 Fifth St., Ellwood City. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Agatha Church. Burial will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, Suite 2104, Wexford Professional Building II, 11676 Perry Highway, Wexford, Pa. 15090.
