Obituary, New Castle News, May 25, 1988, Edward E. Slevin: Edward E. Slevin, 61, of 505 Nicholson Ave., Franklin Township, Ellwood City, died at 1:55 p.m. May 24 1988, in Ellwood City Hospital. He was born Sept. 14, 1926, to Edward R. and Bertilla Slevin. He was married to the former Joan Adler. Mr. Slevin retired in 1987 from Rexnord, formerly Matthews Conveyor Co., Ellwood City, where he worked for 40 years. At the time of his retirement he was general manager of marketing. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, at home; four sons, Edward J. of Ellwood City, Robert T. of Conneaut Lake, Michael and Todd P. both of Beaver; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Maureen) Bergdahl of Cranberry Township; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Sockaci and Mrs. Ruth Jerome, both of Ellwood City; a brother, Thomas Slevin of Lodi, California; and 10 grandchildren. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow in the Joseph A. Tomon Funeral Home, 123 Fifth St. Ellwood City. A wake service will be conducte at 8 p.m. tomorrow in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Agatha Catholic Church. The Rev. Thomas Kirby of the church will officiate. Interment will be in St. Agatha Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
