OBITUARY
WILLIAMSBURG - Margaret Irene Weatherholt, 85, known affectionately as "Aunt Peg" to many, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at Munson Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.The 11th child of 14 born to Charles and Ellen (Mannor) Weatherholt, she was born in Old Mission on Jan. 27, 1918. She moved with her family to their farm in Williamsburg in 1926. Peg attended Bates Grade school and graduated from St. Francis High School. Prior to retirement, she had been employed by The Morgan Canning Company and Chef Pierre. She loved her family and her dogs and loved to feed and watch birds and turkeys. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers and making sugar cookies. Peg is survived by her sister, Marvel Sarasin of Kewadin, and by a brother Vincent (Betty) Weatherholt of Monroe. Many nieces and nephews also survive, along with her sisters-in-law, Alice of Everett, Wash., Della of Williamsburg and Jean of Traverse City.She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Edith LaBatt and Alta Weatherholt, Gertrude Jahnke; and brothers, Clarence, John, Frank, Charles, Leo, Albert, Julius, and Thomas.The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Acme, with The Rev. Fr. Garth Hilmer as celebrant.Visitation will take place at the church today, Jan. 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., where a rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. by the Rev. Fr. Edwin Thome. Burial will take place in the spring in Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery.Memorial contributions in Peg's name may be made to the Father Fred Foundation or to Mass intentions.The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
