Zanesville - William L. Heil, 93, of Zanesville, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 1998, at Genesis Good Samaritan Campus.
Born October 27, 1904, in Fulda, Noble County, he retired in 1974 as superintendent of ground maintenance at Zanesville Municipal Airport following 30 years of service. Mr. Heil was a member of the K of C Council 505, St. Thomas Catholic Church and was a former member of Columbian Association.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Wilson of Zanesville and Rose and Tom Waterson of Reynoldsburg and Barbara and John F. Baker of Zanesville; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Louise Ann Crowley of Zanesville; and one brother, Ephraim F. Heil of Zanesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Margaret (Gerst) Heil; his first wife, Magdalen (Tonsor) Heil, who died in 1943; his second wife, Selma K. (Orr) Heil, who died in 1978; one sister, Mary A. Cornett; and one brother, Otto J. Heil.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, August 12, 1998, at Hillis Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 1998, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, with Dominican Fathers as celebrants. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery.
