- [S927] Obituary.
Uncle Gordy celebrated his 99th birthday February 27, 2018, in style with a party with family and friends and was planning his 100th when he died March 11. He loved a good party.
Gordy was born February 27, 1919, in Butternut, Wisconsin, to John and Mildred (Dougherty) Bruch. He lived there until joining the Army during WWII. Upon completion of his service in 1948 he joined his parents and brothers James and John who had moved to Port Angeles. His sister Elva Solleder (Ed) and children joined the family in Port Angeles in 1949.
Gordy spent most of his adult life working in the woods or with his brothers in road construction.
He is survived by his brother Jim Bruch (Barbara) and is remembered fondly by his nephews Pat Solleder, Jay Bruch, Lynn Bruch and Kurt Bruch; and nieces Cindy Schlaffman, Shari Bilow and Jody Piper. He will also be missed by his neighbor Korey Dugdale who as his surrogate son provided support and friendship for over 40 years.
His parents John and Mildred, his brother John and his sister Elva Solleder preceded him in death.
A grave side service will be held at Mt. Angeles Memorial Park on Saturday, March 24 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Patrick Lovejoy officiating.
With a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye he would say as you left "See you later Alligator, after while Crocodile." Published in The Peninsula Daily News from Mar. 21 to Mar. 22, 2018
