Mrs. Patricia Lynn 'Patti' Lebherz
Patricia Lynn "Patti" Lebherz, 56, of Frederick, peacefully passed into eternity in the loving arms of her family and friends Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at home, following a courageous struggle with a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Charles F. "Chuck" Lebherz and mother to Tara and Natalie. She will be deeply missed.
Born May 27, 1953, in Takoma Park and raised in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late Marvin L. and Joan Baker Hiner. Patti and Chuck met and were married 39 years ago at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. She dedicated herself to her family, then returned to school and graduated from Frederick Community College with a degree in nursing.
She spent her nursing career helping people. She worked as the first community nurse for Health Care for the Homeless, with HIV patients for the health department, and with troubled children and adolescents at Brooklane Psychiatric Hospital and The Jefferson School, Jefferson. She retired in 2005.
She will be remembered as an amazing mother and a compassionate woman who was devoted to her husband and her two daughters. She possessed tremendous empathy for everyone she met.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck; her daughters, Natalie L. Lebherz and Tara L. Lebherz and husband, Victor Buckwold; her devoted sisters, Tammy Lawton and her husband, Dan, and Sherry Ferrell and her husband, Scott; stepgranddaughter, Natalie Buckwold; many nieces, nephews and cousins who she loved dearly; and the many loving friends and family she made on her journey through this life.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 30, at Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 31, from St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 E. Second St., Frederick. Monsignor Richard Murphy, pastor of the church, will be the celebrant. Inurnment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery, Frederick.
