  [S927] Obituary. Geraldine A. 'Geri' Scher Monday, February 9, 2009 12:52 PM Dec 7, 1929 - Feb 9, 2009 Geraldine A. "Geri" Scher, 79, of Huntington, IN, died Monday Feb. 9, 2009, at 8:40 a.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Scher worked as an insurance agent for AFLAC Insurance in Huntington from 1984 to 2000. She also worked at the former Gass' Ladies Shop and for the administration of former Mayor Ambler. She was a member of the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Rosary Sodality, the Women's Christ Renews His Parish and Child Conservation Club. She graduated from Rock Creek High School in 1947. She was born Dec. 7, 1929, in Wells County to Doyle C. and Pearl Minnick Pursifull. She married Virgil R. Scher on Aug. 21, 1948, at the SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Huntington. Mr. Scher survives. Also surviving are three sons, Ronald E. (Darlene) Scher, of Fort Wayne; Raymond A. Scher, of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and Samuel J. (Christine) Scher of Huntington; five daughters, Beverly A. (Thomas Page) Bennett, of Dexter, MI; Elaine M. (Thomas) Riggs of Plano, TX; Lynn A. (Brian) Wurm, of Monroeville; Cynthia A. (Andrew) Zay, of Huntington; and Lori K. (Gary) Hughes, of Brownsburg; five brothers, Carl (Joan) Pursifull and Vern (Martha) Pursifull, both of Huntington; Doyle (June) Pursifull, of Warren; Loyal (Betty) Pursifull, of Markle; and James Pursifull, of St. Peter, MN; a sister, Barbara Scarborough, of Huntington; 23 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, with Rev. Ron Rieder officiating. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington. Pallbearers were David Scher, Ryan Bennett, Joe Riggs, Mike Riggs, Clinton Wurm, Dan Scher, Joe Christen and Josh Jacoby. Memorials may be made to Masses or to Huntington Catholic Schools in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington, IN 46750.
