Knowlton 74, of 656 Forest Ave. died at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, in Good Samaritan Medical Center at Zanesville. He was born June 25, 1914, in Sycamore Valley, Monroe County, to Henry H. and Bertha Morrison Knowlton. He was a member of the Seventh Street Church of Christ in McConnelsville and Valley Lodge 145, F&AM. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He and his wife had owned and operated the Red and White Grocery Store at Malta. He retired in 1976 from Central Ohio Coal Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Irene Neib. He is survived by one brother, Harold E. of Zanesville; one sister, Dorothy Lochary of Baltimore, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Tatman Funeral Home at McConnelsville with Evangelist Joe Neff officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery at Harrietsville in Monroe County. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
