Raymond H. Moldenhauer, 88, of Alpena, Michigan, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009, at Tendercare/Alpena.
Raymond Moldenhauer was born in Hixton, Wisconsin on July 11, 1921 to the late Rudolph Moldenhauer and Sylvia (Henchel) Moldenhauer.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On May 29, 1944 Raymond married Mary Walter, and she preceded him in death August 2, 1963. He married Marie Prevo Yuchasz on February 1, 1964. Mr. Moldenhauer had been employed at Abitibi as a truck driver.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, K of C #529, 4th Degree, Moose Lodge #571, American Legion, and C.C.C. For many years he was also an active volunteer for the Salvation Army and the American Red Cross.
Surviving were his wife, Marie Moldenhauer; children, Sue and husband John Miller, Dennis and wife Karen Moldenhauer, Evie and husband Mark Rouleau, Karen and husband Richard Spencer, Kenneth Yachasz, Emmet and wife Carla Yuchasz, Rhonda and husband William Kuzenski, Lonnie Yuchasz; 28 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Marvin and wife Nancy of Oklahoma; and two sisters, Laurine Brow of Arizona, and Arlene and husband Donald Hansen of Traverse City.
Preceding him in death were 2 daughters-in-law, Cindy Yuchasz and Wilma Yachasz; 2 sisters, Evelyn Powell, Joy Elaine Moldenhauer; and 2 brothers, Walter and Gaylord "Pete" Moldenhauer.
