Allen G. Reynolds, 78, of Boyne Falls, died April 12, 2007, at Northern Michigan Hospital with family by his side. Allen died after a long struggle with Lewy Bodies Dementia.
He was born March 31, 1929, in Lake Leelanau, Mich., to Henry and Josephine (Hahnenberg) Reynolds. He graduated from Boyne Falls High School in 1948.
He moved to the Flint area and went to work for General Motors, where he met Evelyn Duckworth. They were married May 7, 1955. Allen was preceded in death by Evelyn on Nov. 8, 2006.
Allen retired in 1980 and returned to Boyne Falls. He became very active in the community serving in the Knights of Columbus, as a Boy Scout leader, Little League coach, the Booster Club and choir member of St. Augustine Church in Boyne Falls.
Allen is survived by seven children, Douglas (Janice) Reynolds of Boyne Falls, Connie (Dean) Seal of Davison, Dale Reynolds of Boyne Falls, Beverly (Mark) Loveless of Columbia, Tenn., Kevin Reynolds of Mount Pleasant, Tenn., Renee (Matthew) Hansen of Midland and Mark (Jacci) Reynolds of Gambrillis, Md.; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harry Reynolds, Gale (Alice) Reynolds and Derrold (Mary) Reynolds; four sisters, Doris Leazier, Betty Ernst, Eileen (Larry) Megill, Kathleen (Don) Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Robert Reynolds, Burlin Reynolds, Warren Reynolds and Joan Wendt.
Visitation, with a vigil service, was Sunday, April 15, at St. Augustine Church in Boyne Falls. The funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. today, Monday, April 16, at St. Augustine Church, with the Rev. Duane Wachowiak as celebrant. Burial took place at St. Augustine Cemetery, Boyne Falls.
Arrangements were handled by Stackus Funeral Home of Boyne City.
