Norman Joseph Schaub
Died July 13, 1999
GRAWN - Norman Joseph Schaub, 57, died Tuesday at the Schaub farm in Centerville Township, Leelanau County.
Born May 22, 1942, in Centerville Township, he was the son of Paul and Helen (Sylt) Schaub. On May 12, 1962, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Traverse City, he married Elvera Carol Kalbfleisch.
Norman was a wonderful husband and father. He was a lifelong cherry farmer and also worked for the Traverse City public school for 30 years. Norman enjoyed hunting and fishing and found special pleasure in taking his grandchildren fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Elvera Schaub; two daughters, Pamela Schaub of Brighton and Gary; and Camela (Mark) Outwater of Stockbridge; brothers and sisters, Eva (James) Blohm of Saginaw, James (Wilma) Schaub of Traverse City, Phillip (Carol) Schaub of Traverse City, Jenny (John) McAulay of Prescott, Bernard (Betty) Schaub of Saginaw, Mary (Melvin) Schaub of Lake Leelanau, David (Joan) Schaub of Suttons Bay and Elizabeth McNiel of Saginaw; his mother, Helen of Cedar; five grandchildren, Cory, Renee, Nathaniel, Katie and Sarah; and several nieces and nephews.
Norman was preceded in death by his father, Paul, and brother, Frederick Schaub.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Martinson Funeral Home in Suttons Bay where a Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Grawn; the Rev. Jerry Micketti will serve as celebrant. Burial will be in Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery in Traverse City.
