Walter G. Kaupp
Gridley -- The funeral of Walter G. Kaupp, 88, of Fairbury, formerly of Gridley, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gridley Apostolic Christian Church.
Church ministers will officiate. Burial will be in Gridley Cemetery, Gridley.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Froelich Memorial Home, Gridley, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Mr. Kaupp, a retired farmer, died at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday (June 28, 1989) at his home.
He was born July 9, 1900, in Livingston County, a son of John and Juliana Brubach Kaupp. He married Esther Rinkenberger on Sept. 5, 1937, in Bloomington. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Marvin, Gridley, and John, Eureka; two daughters, Evelyn Wright, Susanville, Calif.; and Carolyn Yoder, Gridley; five sisters, Emma Bessler, Marie Kaupp and Louise Finck, all of Peoria; Caroline Moser, Eureka; and Ida Alt, Las Vegas, Nev.; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. One son, one brother, two sisters and two grandchildren preceded him in death.
Mr. Kaupp farmed in the Gridley area for more than 50 years.
He was a member of the Gridley Apostolic Christian Church.
Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Church in Gridley or Fairbury or to Fairview Haven, Fairbury.
