Neuhardt, Arvilla Helen Neuhardt, nee Howe

POCATELLO -- Arvilla Helen Neuhardt, 82, passed away at her home Sept. 2, 1997.
She was born October 13, 1914, at March Center as the sixth of thirteen children of Rebecca Wheelwright Howe and Fredrick James Howe. She attended the local schools and graduated.
She married Adelbert Van Leuven June 1, 1934. They resided in [Downey?]* and then moved to Pocatello. They later divorced. She then married Wilmer Neuhardt in 1957. They were married until his death in 1985.
Arvilla enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards, cooking and taking care of her family. She worked as a receiving clerk for Montgomery Wards in Pocatello upon retiring in 1974. She was an active member of the Women of the Moose Lodge for many years. She served as a Past Senior [Regent?]* and was involved with many of the activities and dinners held at the lodge. She enjoyed going to Jackpot Nevada by bus with friends [ _ ?__ ]* Sage and Jean Mann.
Arvilla has many friends with whom she enjoyed playing cards with. She enjoyed the companionship of [S?_ ]*Aldous, a lifelong friend from school. They would drive to Lava and soak in the hot pools or go out somewhere for dinner.
Prior to her illness, she was very active and was usually gone on a short trip somewhere or just enjoying life.
Arvilla was preceded in death by her husband Bill; one daughter, Elaine; one son, Eddy; eight brothers and one sister. She is survived by five sons: Gary Van Leuven, Salt Lake City; Karl (Waynette) Van Leuven, Salt Lake City; Dirk (Helen) Van Leuven, Pocatello; Fred (Laurel) Van Leuven, Pocatello; Mike (Colleen) Van Leuven, Pocatello. She is also survived by one daughter, Joan Van Leuven of Missoula; one stepson, [Roc?]* Neuhardt, Portland; and one stepdaughter, Charlene (Robert) Frisk, Pocatello. Arvilla is also survived by a brother Lloyd (Gerie) Howe. Boise; two sisters: Wyoma (Donald) Grandjean, Twin Falls; Rebecca (Dale) Barrett, Banning, California; one sister-in-law, Margaret Howe, Yuma, Arizona; 22 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
The viewing services will be held at the Colonial Funeral Home in Pocatello, Friday Sept. 5 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and prior to the funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday Sept. 6, 1997. Burial will be at the Arimo City Cemetery, Arimo, Idaho.
