Charles P. Neuhardt, 83, of Barnesville, died Monday (Oct. 27, 2003) in Columbus.
He was born Feb. 11, 1920, in Barnesville, son of the late Edmund and Lillie (Thornberry) Neuhardt.
Mr. Neuhardt was a retired carpenter, and a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II.
He was a member of VFW Post 2792 in Barnesville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Carpenter Neuhardt; a daughter, Marilyn Benear; four brothers, John Howard, Wilmer, Albert and Kenneth Neuhardt; and a sister, Donna Jean Neuhardt.
He leaves two sons, Phillip Neuhardt II and Dennis Neuhardt, both of Columbus; three sisters, Marie Bailey of Hendersonville, Tenn., Martha Wells of Barnesville and Rita Sampson of Bethesda; grandchildren, Ashley, Ben, Christin and Martin Neuhardt, Joe Johnson and Jamie Benear; and a great-grandson.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, Barnesville, where services will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Gene Miller officiating.
Burial will follow at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City. Military services will be conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Council of VFW.
