Rosie (Mosbrucker) Meissner, 79, Bismarck, passed away September 5, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin, with Rev. Arul Joseph officiating. Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veteran?s Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin, where a rosary/vigil will begin at 6:30 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Rosie was born June 17, 1931, the daughter of Christ and Johanna (Dietrich) Mosbrucker. She was raised in rural Glen Ullin and graduated from Glen Ullin High School in 1949. She married Claremont Meissner on June 14, 1953. They lived in Glen Ullin where they raised their family. Rosie was a jack-of-all-trades in her community, doing everything from caring for special needs children, owning a restaurant and rec, catering, and many others.
She enjoyed many activities such as sport cards and sport memorabilia collecting. She also spent many years ?walking the fields? in Glen Ullin looking for artifacts with her husband and family. Rosie was known for her strong faith and her love for her children and grandchildren.
Rosie is survived by her seven children, Cindy (Kurt) Schirado, Randy (Pam) Meissner, Gary (Pauline) Meissner, Gerry (Joan) Meissner, Pam (Craig) Wilhelm, Melissa (Rick) Erhart, and Jeff (Lana) Meissner; her 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Rosie is also survived by her twin brother, Lawrence (Emmy) Mosbrucker and her sister, Alice (Mosbrucker) Hermes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claremont; two sisters, Madeline Hermes and Marion Muggli; one brother, Ed Mosbrucker; and her parents.
