Our much loved husband and dad passed away July 25, 2007, at home.
Joe Bisterfelt was born November 12, 1947 in Pasco, Washington. He was the youngest of ten children, born to Henry and Lena Bisterfelt.
He graduated from River View High School in 1966 and made many lifelong friends during his school years.
He served with the 9th Infantry Division, 86th Combat Engineers in Vietnam and was injured, by chemical drops, during the Tet Offensive, in 1968.
He married Kay Leistritz in 1970 and they had three children who have frosted the cake of their 37 year marriage. They lived in Kennewick through out their marriage.
He was an ironworker for ten years, many of those in the Hanford Area. At the time of his death, he had been with the Tessenderlo Kerley Company, a total of 20 years.
He was easy to love and enjoyed his life, even when he couldn't make par.
He was preceded, in death, by a son, (Bobby), two sisters, (Joanne and Sissy), and four brothers, (Fritz, Sonny, Dick and Calvin).
He is survived by his wife, (Kay) a son and family, (Paul, Jolee, Baylee and Abigail), a daughter and her husband, (Trish and David Olvera), and three sisters, (Dorthy, Toots and Elaine).
Family and friends will gather at his home, Saturday, August 4, 2007, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, to celebrate his life.
