He was an Army veteran of World War II, owned and operated Neal Hendrich Auto Body Shop in Palmyra, and was a member of Central Barren United Methodist Church and VFW and American Legion, both of New Albany. Survivors include his wife, the former Irene Hampton; a son, Eddie Hendrich of Palmyra; a brother, Eugene Hendrich of New Salisbury; a sister, Patricia Hendrich of Louisville; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren..
