OBITUARY - Charlottie Miller-Courts was born on the 23rd day of July, 1860. She was a daughter of Charles L. Miller and his wife Charlotte, born Ney. (Neu) She was one of five children, a sister, Elizabeth (Mrs. Ethan Lindsay) now dead, Charles, Laura (Mrs. Laura Lewis), Frederick, still living.
She was made a child of God by baptism on Christmas Day of the same year. After instructions in the word of Good, she made a confession of her faith and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church, at Arnheim, on Good Friday, March 30, 1877, and made confessions of her Lord through life. On October 13, 1881, she was married to James H. Courts. One child was born, Lousettie (Mrs. Henry Henise): there are also two grandchildren to mourn the death of the grandmother, Victor and Virginia; also three great grandchildren, Carl Edward, Betty Louise and George Henry.
After days of increasing weakness she quietly fell asleep into that sleep that knows no waking in this life, on Sunday morning, November 7, 1937, having reached the age of 77 years, 3 months and 15 days.
CARD OF THANKS - We desire to thank all those who in any way rendered us service or brought comfort during this time of sorrow: Rev. W. F. Frey for his consoling words; for the beautiful floral offerings; the Spencer Funeral Home for their kind and efficient services. Mr. James H. Courts and daughter.
