FRED HOLMES - Little Fred Holmes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holmes, passed over the river of death last Sunday at 12 o'clock. He was 1 year, 6 months, and 16 days of age. He was a child of unusual brightness and won the admiration of all who met him. This bereavement is a very severe one for Mr. and Mrs. Holmes, as they are passing through this sad ordeal for the first time. We assure them the deep sympathy of all the people of Bussey. They came to our town a short time ago and entered into business here. They soon won the confidence of our people. Service were held at the home Monday at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. J. W. Ward after which Mr. and Mrs. Holmes took their little treasure to Oskaloosa, where they will most tenderly place it in its last resting place. OBITUARY(2): The following notice appeared in another Bussey newspaper around July 6th, 1905. HOLMES - Fred William, youngest son of Harry Holmes and wife, died at their home in East Bussey Sunday at 12:30 o'clock, after an illness of almost two months, but not serious until the last week. He was about 18 months of age. This is a very severe blow to the parents, having just moved among us two months ago. They have the sympathy of all who know them in this dad hour of bereavement. The little ones remains were taken to Oskaloosa Monday for interment in the Forest cemetery.
