Albert Blattner Dead
The community was shocked and many hearts made sad when it was announced last Sunday morning that Mr. Blattner had died at his home, a mile south of this city at eight o'clock the preceding evening.
Mr. Blattner had been enjoying his usual good health up to within a few days of his death. On Tuesday preceding his death, he was taken with pains under his arms and elsewhere in his body and a physician was summoned. He gradually grew worse until his death, the immediate caused which was dropsy.
He leaves a wife, three children; Ida, George and Henry, all grown; two brothers, Wm. And John, of this city; four sisters, Mrs. James Whitehead, of near this place, Mesdames Lizzie Horn and Emma Payne of Pueblo, Colo. and Mrs. Laura Shrader of Des Moines, Iowa, and many other relatives and friends who mourn his untimely taking away.
The funeral was conduct from the home, Tuesday, after a short discourse by Rev. C. V. Pierce of Canton and the remains were interned in the Blattner cemetery east of this city.
Albert Blattner was born in Kentucky 49 years ago, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Blattner, both deceased, so well known in this end of the county. He married Miss Hattie Clough, daughter of Judge Clough, of this city and had spent his life building up his beautiful home where he died. He was a kind husband and an indulgent father and a good neighbor and citizen. He was loved by all his neighbors, and if he had an enemy in this world we never knew it. The bereaved family have the heart felt sympathy of the community.
