FUNERAL MASS FOR MARY HERTZ, 75, IS MONDAY

Funeral Mass for Mary Hertz, a Lewiston homemaker, will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at St. James Catholic Church at Lewiston with the Rev. William Crowley as celebrant.
Hertz died Thursday at the Lewiston Care Center of cancer. She was 75.
She was born March 28, 1917, at Mott, N.D., to Rochus and Cecilia Klein Wolf.
She grew up and attended school at Mott, and then married Henry Hertz there May 3, 1938.
They moved to Glen Ullin, N.D., that year and lived there until 1946, when they moved to Glendive, Mont.
In 1956, the couple moved to Missoula, Mont., where they lived until 1968.
They lived at Ashby, Minn., from 1968 to 1980.
In 1980, they moved to Flathead Lake, Mont., and lived there for seven years.
In 1987, they moved to Lewiston, where they had resided since.
Hertz was a communicant of St. James Church and a member of the Women's Guild.
She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and quilting, and many of her crafts were auctioned at benefits.
Survivors include her husband at the Lewiston family home; a son, Kenneth Hertz of Blaine, Mont.; two daughters, Shirley Velk of Havre, Mont., and Sandra Bunton of Clarkston; two brothers, Marcus Wolf of Missoula and Phillip Wolf of Glen Ullin; two sisters, Margaret Miller of Great Falls, Mont., and Josephine Bader of Carson, N.D.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild, a brother and two sisters.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Malcom's Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel at Lewiston.
Burial will be at Normal Hill Cemetery at Lewiston.
