Henry J. Loran

Henry J. Loran, 81, of Tyler, Texas, died Nov. 19, 2006.
He was born June 30, 1925, in Stark County, N.D., to Henry Philip and Eva Marie (Hertz) Loran.
Mr. Loran served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He retired form the Navy Reserve in 1976 after 34 years of active and reserve duty. He was a longshoreman for Local 21 in Longview for 26 years. He also owned and operated Bubble Car Wash in Longview and was a real estate agent for Rhinehart Realty for seven years. He moved to Tyler in 1993.
His first wife, Myrtle Loran, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Gloria Loran; a son, James Purvis; two daughters, Laura Smith and Wendy Olson; a sister, Betty Oheiser; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

A service was held Nov. 21 at Tyler Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors took place at Tyler Memorial Park.
