Ernest Miller, Of Caldwell, Is Taken By Death
CALDWELL, O., July 29 -- Ernest Miller, 37, World war veteran, died at his home on Fairground road, Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock, following an illness of tuberculosis. He was a member of the American Legion and the Catholic church at Caldwell.
Surviving are his widow, who was Miss Eunice Schell, before her marriage and a small daughter, Elva (Melba), of the home, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Miller of near Fulda, and the following brothers and sisters; Amil, Otto and Edwin of near Fulda, Elmer who resides in Iowa; Mrs. Fred Hepner of Lewisville, Stark Co., Mrs. Eunice Ritterbach, Carlisle; Mrs. Raymond Arnold, of Fulda and Miss Amelia of the home.
Funeral services will be held from the St. Philomena Catholic church, here, at 9:30 o'clock, with solemn requiem high mass conducted by Rev. Frs. Campbell, pastor; Crock, of Cambridge, and Tague of Berne.
The local American Legion Post will hold their last rites at the cemetery. Burial will be made in Mt. Calvary cemetery on Olive hill near Caldwell, by Funeral Director William Estadt.

WORLD WAR VET DIES IN CALDWELL OF LONG ILLNESS
Caldwell, O., July 30 -- Friends here were saddened to learn of the death Monday evening of Ernest Miller, 37, World war veteran, well known Caldwell young man residing on Fairground road. He had been an employe of the New System Bakery, before his health became impaired.
Surviving are his widow, who was Eunice Schell, and one daughter, Elva (Melba); his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Miller, near Fulda; four brothers, Amil, Otto and Edwin, near Fulda, and Elmer, Iowa; four sisters, Mrs. Fred Heppner, Lewisville, Starke county; Mrs. Julius Ritterbach, near Carlisle; Mrs. Raymond Arnold, Fulda, and Amelia of the home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Philomena church here, with solemn requiem high mass conducted by Rev. Fr. Campbell assisted by Fr. Tague, Carlisle, and Fr. Clement Crock, Cambridge. The American Legion will be in charge. Interment in Olive.
According to his death certificate, 37 year old carpenter, Ernest Henry Miller died in Olive Twp., Noble Co., Ohio on July 28, 1930. He was born in Fulda, Noble Co., Ohio to Fulda natives John Miller and Catherine Michel Miller and although his date of birth is not given his age, 37 yrs, 5 mos, 23 days, permits calulation of a date of birth of February 5, 1893. The cause of death is given as "Pulmanary tubulosis?" witn a contriburoty factor of "Gased while in the US service." He was buried on July 29, 1930 in Olive Cemetery. The information on the death certificate was provided by Otto J. Miller of Fulda, Ohio.
