CALDWELL ? Clara R. Mallett, 93, a resident of Cambridge
Health and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Carlisle, Caldwell
and Byesville, died Monday (April 2, 2001). She was born Dec.
17, 1907, in Carlisle, daughter of the late John and Eva (Warner)
Schehl.
Mrs. Mallett was a homemaker, and along with her late hus-
band, owned and operated a beef cattle farm near Carlisle for
many years. She was a former member of St. Michael Catholic
Church, Carlisle, and a current member of St. Stephen Catholic
Church, Caldwell, where she also belonged to the Catholic
Women?s Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Mallett, on
June 5, 1999; several brothers and sisters.
She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Alice) Orr of Byesville,
Mrs. Art (Pat) Sales of Cambridge, Mrs. Victor (Janis) Moreno of
Yardley, Pa., and Mrs. David (Lynne) Jennings of Huffman, Texas;
two sons, Merle (Doris) Mallett of Columbus, and Bill (Jean)
Mallett of Lebanon; a brother, Earl Schehl of Caldwell; 14 grand-
children; and several great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McVay-Perkins
Funeral Home, Caldwell. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m.
Thursday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell, with the Rev.
Father Dale Tornes officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery,
Stafford.
