Debra A. Schatzel
Debra A. Schatzel, 45, of Dundee died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2004.
Born May 14, 1959, she was the daughter of Edith Lenarz Maurer of Dundee and the late Galen ?Perk? Maurer.
For more than 15 years she was a loyal employee of the Elasto-Tec Company at Walnut Creek.
Debra was a huge sports fan and actively followed the Indians and Browns and even NASCAR races. She was an avid bowler and bowled for many years in the Sugarcreek Lanes Wednesday night ladies league. She also shared her love of sports with her grandsons whom she loved to take outside and play baseball with. Debra also enjoyed entertaining friends and family and always looked forward to her big Sunday dinners.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest H. Schatzel Jr., whom she wed on May 17, 1976.
Other survivors include two sons, Jason (Tia) Schatzel of Dundee and Seth Schatzel of the home; three grandchildren, Brandon, Preston and Bailey Schatzel; three brothers, Dave (Kay) Maurer and Greg Maurer of Dundee and Denny Maurer of Barnhill; a sister, Candy (Pete) Miller of Bolivar; sister-in-law, Kathy (Woody) Becker of Sugarcreek; and many loving aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her father, Debra was preceded in death by two infant children; father-in-law, Ernest Schatzel Sr.; and mother-in-law, Ruth Marino.
A ceremony that celebrates Debra?s life will be held Friday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Dan Legg officiating. Interment will be in the Dundee Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
