Leonard G. Schantz Sr. Leonard G. Schantz Sr. of Irondequoit died Oct. 10, 2006 at the age of 89. He was an original member of the Thistles Semi-Pro Soccer League. He retired from Eastman Kodak after 32 years and enjoyed 26 years of retirement. Mr. Schantz was predeceased by his first child, Cynthia; grandson, Geoffrey; three brothers and two sisters. Mr. Schantz is survived by his wife of 67 years, Agnes; children, Marcia (John) Taylor, Thea (Leroy) Christensen, Leonard Jr.(Patti), Susan Schantz; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Schantz and many nieces and nephews. His funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Interment was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
