William Frederick Bartenschlag

William F. Bartenschlag, 71, of Lewisville, died Oct. 19, 1999 at Riverside Hospital, Columbus. He was born in Lewisville July 11, 1928, a son of the late Walter and Amelia Steed Bartenschlag.
He was a Lewisville High School graduate. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, with duty in the Middle East. He was a retired employee of Consolidated Aluminum Corporation, Hannibal; a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Lewisville, where he was a former council member, member of the Monroe County Republican Central Committee, a former Lewisville Village Councilman; and a 43 year member of the American Legion Post 87 of Woodsfield.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Wilda Heft Bartenschlag, of Lewisville; a daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Pat (Crystal) Willis, Pleasant City; two sons and daughter-in-law, John and Kim Bartenschlag, of Parkersburg and Don and Aimee Bartenschlag, of Zanesville; three brothers, Ellis Bartenschlag, of Lewisville, Robert Bartenschlag, and wife Pat, of Berea, Kentucky, Jack Bartenschlag and wife, Jane of Columbus; six grandchildren, Mary Sweeney, Mike Bartenschlag, Matt Bartenschlag, all of Parkersburg, Christopher Willis of Pleasant City, Amelia Bartenschlag and April LBartenschlag, both of Zanesville.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Clayton Bartenschlag and one infant sister Melba Bartenschlag.
Services were held Oct. 23 at Trinity United Church of Christ, Lewisville, the Rev William Worchester III officiating. Interment was in Friendship Cemetery, Lewisville. Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, was in charge of arrangements.
