The following obituary appeared in the "Patriot-News" (Harrisburg, PA) on February 8, 2014:
Stanley A. Seese, Sr., 89, of Camp Hill, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 5, 2014 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, Harrisburg. Born on July 15, 1924 in Mt. Solon, VA, he was the son of the late Walter A. and Pauline (Armstrong) Seese, and he was the widower of Marie Medwith Seese. Married in Uniontown, PA in June of 1949 he enjoyed 53 years of marriage with the love of his life, and he endlessly cared for her during the difficult years at the end of her life. He was raised in Mechanicsburg and was a 1943 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, and went on to attend the Thompson Institute. He was a Private First Class in the Army Air Corp who served during WWII and was discharged in 1945. Stan was employed at the Navy Ships Parts Control Center as an Equipment Specialist until he retired in 1980. He was also employed at Booz Allen as an Equipment Specialist for the Navy as an independent contractor after his retirement. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Camp Hill where he was very active, serving as greeter, usher, and money counter. He was also a member of NARFE, VFW, American Legion, and was an avid bowler for various leagues. Stan was a loving father who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was also granpaw to several beloved dogs and cats over the years. He was a big fan of Trinity High School girls basketball supporting his good friend Harry DeFrank. He was generous with his time and it brought him joy to help family, friends, and those in need of a smile, kind word, or good deed. He volunteered at several area nursing homes in his retirement, Villa Theresa and most recently at Golden Living in Camp Hill. He enjoyed helping the "old people" as he would say. Stan was a friend and a blessing to all those he met and will be missed by many, not just his loving family but to all those who knew him and were part of his extended family. He is survived by his son, Stanley A. Seese, Jr., wife Jane, of Harrisburg and his daughter, Donna Seese Lindquist, husband David, of Harrisburg; two granddaughters, Wendy Seese Putt of Strasburg, VA, and Amy Seese Delage, husband Eric, of Wichita, KS; and a brother, J. Russell Seese. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Seese, and two sisters, Nancy Seese Bretz and Betty Jane Souder. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday February 11, 2014 in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3435 Trindle Rd., Camp Hill, with the Rev. Paul C. Helwig as Celebrant.
