Mrs. Seibert Succumbs After Long Sickness
Mrs. Louis Seibert, of 2827 Samford Avenue, died last night in a local hospital after an illness of several months. She had lived here for several years, coming here with her family from Houston.
Mr. Seibert is employed by the Gulf Oil Company and is head of the Shreveport Military Service Center on Marshall Street and a prominent Legionnaire.
Funeral services, in charge of Rose-Neath, will not be arranged until the arrival of a son, Jack Seibert, who is at an army camp on the west coast.
Other survivors, in addition to her husband and son, are: two daughters, Mrs. Gilbert Gele, and Vera Seibert, of Shreveport; and two sisters, Mrs. Harry Byers, New Iberia, and Mrs. Anna Reynolds, Houston.
Obituary from the Shreveport Times newspaper, Dec. 9, 1943, Thursday, p. 15:
Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Snelling Seibert, who died Tuesday night in a local hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Rose-Neath chapel, conducted by the Rev. B. D. Watson, pastor of Wynn Memorial Methodist Church.
Additional services will be held at Roberts Funeral Home, Beaumont, Texas, and burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery at Beaumont.
Sgt. Jack Seibert, U.S. Army, Muroc, California, will arrive in Shreveport this morning to attend his mother's funeral.
Pallbearers will be: W. D. Snelling, Lial W. Curtis, W. P. Capps, H. M. Bradford, J. A. Casky, V. N. Cobb, E. M. Roark, W. M. Thompson and E. D. Thomas.
