  [S927] Obituary. BURKHART, Alice I. Cross, 89, of Bridgeport, Ohio, died Saturday, September 13, 2008, in East Ohio Regional Hospital. She was born November 17, 1918, in Wetzel County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Lindsy and Martha Brock Cross. She was a retired nursing assistant at OVMC; a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Bridgeport; and a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Daughters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Garold J. Cochran, in 2004; a daughter, Peggy S. Davis, in 2005; an infant son and daughter; four brothers, Jim, Encil, Rancil and Irvin Cross; five sisters, Dessie Myers, Bessie Loy, Bertie Rine, Bertha Neff, Madge Plants; a grandson, John P. Harvath Jr., in 1994; and three infant granddaughters. Surviving is her loving husband, George E. Burkhart; a daughter, Janet (Joseph) Vitiello of Shadyside, Ohio; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Brooksie Eggleston of Paden City, W.Va.; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Cochran of Canton, Ohio; a son-in-law, Virgil Davis of Wheeling; and several nieces and nephews. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2008.
