Message: From the Huntington Herald Press Online, September 09, 1999 Joseph B. Larr, 79, died at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 7, 1999) at Markle Health Care, Markle. He was formerly of 889N-200E. Mr. Larr retired from International Harvester, Fort Wayne, in 1977 where he was a trouble shooter for 30 years. He was a decorated Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He graduated from West Union High School, Huntington County, in 1939. He was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Huntington to Earl and Leah Hipskind Larr. He married Laura Lee Garrett Nov. 20, 1954. His wife survives in Huntington. Also surviving are two sons, Walt Larr, Markle, and Ken Larr, Huntington; three daughters, Mrs. Jim (Brenda) Sagstetter, Markle, Linda Larr and Cindy Larr, both of Huntington; a brother, Harold Larr, Warren; four sisters, Virginia Scher, Ruth Caley and Mary Larr, all of Huntington, and Clara Whitesell, Ligonier; six grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Larr, William Larr and Eldon Larr; and three sisters, Leah Bohrer, Miriam Winters and Julia Rettig. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Hart Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Gerald O. Moreland will officiate at the service. Burial will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery. Preferred memorials are contributions to Markle Health Care.
