Bio: Morning Call, The (Allentown, PA) - Thursday, November 8, 1990Deceased Name: DR. BERNARD NAAB, 66, GYNECOLOGIST 30 YEARS AT PALMERTON HOSPITAL Dr. Bernard J. Naab, 66, of 235 Harvard Ave., Palmerton, an obstetrician and gynecologist, died Wednesday in Allentown Hospital. He was the husband of Rosemary (Garvin) Naab. They were married 40 years in July. Naab practiced at Palmerton Hospital, for 30 years before retiring in 1985. A 1945 graduate of Ursinus College and a 1948 graduate of Yale University School of Medicine, he served his residency at Syracuse University Medical Center. Born in Easton, he was a son of Gertrude (Murray) Naab of Easton and the late Julius A. Naab. Naab was president of the American Cancer Society Carbon-Tamaqua Unit, 1985-89, and also served on the society's nominating committee and service and rehabilitation committee. In addition, he was a unit delegate to the Pennsylvania Division of the American Cancer Society and a served as district director and on the public education committee of the division. He was a council member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. Naab was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, attaining the rank of lieutenant junior grade. He was a volunteer at the Hawk Mountain Bird Sanctuary. Survivors: Wife and mother; sons, Thomas A. of Rosemont, Delaware County, Daniel B. of Haddon Township, N.J., Peter A. of Phoenixville, Chester County, Edward O. of Lebanon, Lebanon County, and Francis J. of Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery County; daughters, Patricia N., wife of Paul A. Patterson of Wyncote, Montgomery County, and Rosemary A., wife of Edward Tomasek of Costa Mesa, Calif., and 13 grandchildren. Services: 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Charles H. Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Ave., Palmerton; Mass at 10 a.m. in the church. Call 7-9 p.m. Friday.
