STREETER -- Magdalena Kirschenmann, 86, Streeter,
died May 12, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital.
Services will be held at 10-30 a.m. Saturday at
Hope United Church of Christ, Streeter, with the
Rev. Scott Curfman officiating. Burial will be in
Zion Reformed Cemetery, west of Streeter.
Magdalena Kirschenmann was born Nov. 6, 1910, on
the family farm southwest of Streeter, the
daughter of John and Magdalena (Graf)
Kirschenmann. She attended the local rural school
where she received her elementary education and
later graduated from Steele High School. She also
attended Ellendale State College for two years.
She taught at country schools for many years until
moving to Bismarck in 1944, where she worked for
the State of North Dakota. She returned to
Streeter in 1951 to be with her mother. In 1957
she moved back to Bismarck and was co-manager of
the Capitol Building Lunch Room. She retired in
1983 and continued to live in Bismarck until 1995
when she moved to Streeter.
She was a member of Hope United Church of Christ
in Streeter, and also was assistant stenographer
for the Streeter Jubilee.
She is survived by three sisters and one
brother-in-law, Lena Spitzer, Bertha and Philip
Dewald, and Christina Graf, all of Streeter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three
sisters; three brothers; and one infant sister.
