She was born Dec. 27, 1924, in Humboldt, Kansas, to Powell and Gertrude (Belsher) Wilson. She was a member of the Living Word Assembly of God Church in Chanute. Survivors include two sons, Patrick Carter and wife Eileen, and John Carter and partner Ashley; a grandson, Shawn P. Carter; and many cousins and many special friends. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, E.H. Carter, in 1974.
