Sister Mary Clementin Eichler, SND A Mass of Christian Burial for Sister Mary Clementin, SND (Dorothy Clara Eichler), 97, will be 5 p.m. Thursday at Notre Dame Educational Center, 13000 Auburn Road, Chardon. Sister Mary Clementin died August 25, 2008 in the Notre Dame Health Care Center in Chardon. Born November 15, 1910, in Rootstown, OH, she attended St. Joseph School in Randolph, Ohio and Notre Dame Academy in Cleveland. She received her Bachelor Degree from St. John College in Cleveland. Sister taught children in primary grades in Catholic Schools in Ohio, California, and Washington, DC for 47 years. Sister retired to the provincial center in Chardon in 1981 and served as an exceptional seamstress for the next 17 years. Sister had a caring, loving smile and an interest in each person. Survivors include her sister Gertrude Love and brother Gilbert Eichler; also sister to the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame with whom she shared her life for 77 years. Sister Mary Clementin was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Susan (Schuhmann) Eichler; and her stepmother Clara (Wise) Eichler. She is the loving sister of deceased Geneva Fargo, Agnes Lamert, Vincent Eichler and Alma Donahue. Friends may call at the Center on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9, and on Thursday from 2-4:45; special wake service on Wednesday at 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Sisters of Notre Dame.
