Ackerman, sonof Mr. Benjamin Ackerman, of Lewisville, on Saturday morning Novemberninth, at nine o`clock. The wedding took place in St. John`s Church ofMiltonsburg at a Nuptial High Mass, with Reverend Noah E. Brunnerofficiating. Miss Dorothy Stephen, of Columbus, sister of the bride,was the maid of honor and Mr. Francis Weisend, of Lewisville, a closefriend of the groom, served as best man. The bride chose a floorlength gown of White satin with a net overskirt, fashioned with asweetheart neckline, fitted bodice and three quarter length sleeves.Her fingertip veil was held in place with a coronet of seed pearls.She carried a pearl rosary, a gift of the groom, and wore a corsage ofWhite carnations and red Roses. The maid of honor wore a blue satinfloor-length gown with a net overskirt and her corsage was of Whitecarnations and Roses. She wore matching flowers in her hair. The groomwore a teal blue suit and the best man a navy blue. Each had a Whitecarnation in his lapel. A wedding dinner was served at the home of thebride`s uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Carpenter. Guests presentwere Reverend Noah Brunner, of Miltonsburg; Mr. and Mrs. GeorgeAckerman and son Wayne, of Parkersburg, West Virginia; Mr. and Mrs.Lawrence Miller and family, Mrs. Elizabeth Poulton, Mr. and Mrs.Robert Winland and daughter Joyce, of Barnesville; John Ackerman,Benjamin Ackerman and Francis Weisend, of Lewisville; Dorothy Stephenof Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. Marion Stephen and family, Woodsfield, Route3; the host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Carpenter; and thehonored guests, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ackerman. He was born near Lewisville,Malaga Township, on February 6, 1920, (parents: Benjamin P. Ackermanand Elsie Louise Hines). He was a very active dairy farmer for manyyears and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church,Miltonsburg, Ohio, where he had served on the Parish council for manyyears. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the HolyName Society and a 35 year member of the A. S. C. S. Surviving are hiswife of 52 years, Alberta Mae Stephen Ackerman, whom he marriedNovember 9, 1946; three brothers, George B. Ackerman, of Parkersburg,West Virginia, Edward H. Ackerman, of Lewisville, Lester C. Ackerman,of Woodsfield; a sister, Leota Christman Buss, of Apple Creek; severalnieces and nephews. Friends were received at Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, November 8.Funeral liturgy with Mass was celebrated November 9 at St. John theBaptist Catholic Church, Miltonsburg, with Monsignor Thomas C.Petronek as celebrant.
