Our precious mother, Lila B. Hieb, age 81, passed away peacefully early Friday morning October 5, 2007. She was born January 19, 1926 to Olaus and Bertina Rodahl near Roseglen, North Dakota, the youngest of five brothers and three sisters. She married the love of her life, George Hieb, November 20, 1946 in Lamoure, North Dakota. They were happily married for 55 years. Together they had seven children, 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She loved being with her family and friends, and enjoyed baking, crossword puzzles, and was an avid Utah Jazz fan.
She is survived by her children, LeRoy (Sue) Hieb, Twig, MN; Larry (Nee) Hieb, Benbrook, TX; Linda (Merrill) Brady, Castle Valley, UT; Janice Timm, Tooele, UT; Randy (Maylene) Hieb, West Jordan, UT; Julie Kirch, Salt Lake City, UT; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and special nephew, Kenny (Donna) Rodahl. Preceded in death by her husband, George; son, David; and grandson, Dale.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 8, 2007, 2 p.m., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 8575 South 700 East, Sandy. Viewing at the church one hour prior to funeral service. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Redwood Road, Tuesday, October 9th, at 10 a.m.
