WINAMAC ? Charles R. Kirchgessner, 79, Winamac, died at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, in Pulaski Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter?s Catholic Church in Winamac with the Rev. Martin Sandhage officiating.
Burial, with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW and American Legion, will be in St. Peter?s Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Frain Mortuary, where the Eagle?s Lodge 2580 will conduct services at 7 p.m. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday, immediately followed by the Scriptural wake service.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter?s Catholic Church.

Charles R. Kirchgessner, 79, of 220 E. 14th St., Winamac, IN, passed away at 1:15 AM Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac, IN.
He was born December 11, 1929, in Wea, IN, to Al and Louise Becker Kirchgessner.
He was married to Kathryn A. Strand on Nov. 30, 1963, in Winamac, IN. She died on Feb. 24, 2000.
His second marriage was to Dorothy M. Tretiak Fornelli on Dec. 1, 2001, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Winamac.
He was a former resident of Battle Ground, IN, and moved to Winamac in 1950.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, VFW Post #1728, and the FOE #2580, all of Winamac.
He was a retired farmer.
He loved mushroom hunting, gardening, fishing, socializing with friends, and riding his ATV over his farm.
