Obituary in Peoria Journal Star Henry J. Grawey, 89, of Peoria died at 4:55 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2004, in Peoria. Born March 26, 1915, in Peoria to Simon and Rose Barth Grawey, he married Mary J. Shehan in Peoria. She died May 29, 2003, in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by one brother. Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen (and Richard) Kyle of Minneapolis, Minn., and Sharon (and George) Pond of Warren, Ohio; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Ann (and Howard) Mooney of Peoria. He was the former owner of Grawey Glass Co. and was the founder and former president of the Glass Dealers Association. He was a member of Peoria Country Club. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Peoria Heights. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at his church. The Rev. Scott Engelbrecht will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Wright Y Salmon Mortuary, with recitation of the rosayr at 4:45 p.m. Visitation also will be 30 minutes before services at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in West Peoria. Memorials may be made to the St. Thomas Church building fund.
